Wake County Schools Case Study

“As a district just moving to Chromebooks, these trainers will be vital in rolling the devices out to our elementary schools first, as part of a large district initiative (22,000+ deployment) and then as middle and high schools begin adding these devices as well. Our hope is they will be strong advocates in their buildings to support teachers and encourage more digital learning….

This training provided our participants with a variety of helpful activities. In the morning, she spent time with a strong overview of the entire Google Trainer program. Then in the afternoon, she gave them time to work in teams on the various components of the application. It was time well spent for them, as the activities were well balanced, there was no time wasted, and all the participants expressed appreciation for the opportunity, which does not always occur in professional learning.

• 2017-18 School Year Wake educators work with MobileMind to apply for GCT
• September 2018 Grant helps teachers from 5 Wake magnet schools enroll in MobileMind’s virtual G Suite PD
• Present MobileMind educators continue to support Wake as more teachers apply for GCT and take the L1 exam
