Digital Badges & Micro-Credentials

Learners earn digital badges and micro-credentials as they demonstrate competency of skills.

What are Digital Badges?

Digital badges are a way for educators to quickly show off their skills - think of it as a visual resume!

We encourage our districts to create MobileMind badges to celebrate learners’ competency of a particular skill or set of skills around a specific topic, concept, or tool. Learners can earn badges after completing a small group of related micro-courses.

Why Digital Badges?

  • Leaders
  • Quickly see who is competent with specific skills.
  • Identify levels of mastery throughout educators' professional learning journey! (Nearpod Beginner, SEL Superstar, K-5 STEM Whiz. etc.)
  • Use badges to motivate educators to complete professional learning goals!
  • Educators
  • Use digital badges like a visual resume!
  • Collect badges to bring an element of friendly competition to PD with your colleagues.
  • Make it easier for district and school leaders to quickly identify you as a high-flyer with a specific skill set!

Badge Studio

MobileMind provides an awesome badge creator called Badge Studio, which leaders can use to build a custom badge in mere seconds!

Badge Studio is an easy-to-use badge builder that includes templates and hundreds of icons from which to choose! Districts can create badges for new curriculum standards, compliance training, edtech tools, and more! MobileMind districts even like to use them as incentives for things like Jeans Days or conference passes!

  • "I liked how some of the pathways overlapped so you could complete more modules and earn badges. They were very straight to the point as well."
